About the Darren Drake Foundation

Our Mission

The mission of the Darren Drake Foundation is to support the learning and development of individuals pursuing vocational careers. We will pursue this mission by providing financial assistance in the form of monetary scholarship awards, to be used by the honorees towards the tuition of a vocational school program. Qualified candidates will complete an annual application process, and honorees will be selected by a board of Foundation members responsible for the selection and awarding of scholarship funds.

Our Vision

When Darren served on the New Milford Board of Education, he saw the oncoming shortage of skilled labor resources, and, recognizing that not all high school students would pursue college, he emphasized the important opportunity to support the students who would instead pursue vocational careers. This opportunity is not one to be squandered, and we intend to carry out Darren's vision as Darren's "Helping Hands."
