Darren Drake Foundation Attains 2022 Candid Silver Seal of Transparency

New Milford, NJ - The Darren Drake Foundation (Darren Drake Foundation, Inc., an IRS registered 501(C)(3) non-profit charity) announced today the achievement of attaining the Candid Silver Seal of Transparency. The Foundation has been published on the Guidestar website (now under of the Candid umbrella) since our first year (2018, where we received Bronze status), along with indication of our new Silver Seal of Transparency, on a dedicated page viewable here: https://www.guidestar.org/profile/82-4924145. Jonathan Balkin, Chief Information Officer for the Darren Drake Foundation, comments, "Guidestar, now part of Candid, is the world's largest source of non-profit information, and provides us with global exposure as well as access to a wealth of resources to leverage as we build and grow the Darren Drake Foundation. We are proud of this milestone and would like to express our gratitude to Candid for the opportunity to be included in their incredible program." The Darren Drake Foundation has received a Bronze Seal of Transparency each year since its inception in 2018, and is proud to be recognized at the Silver level in 2022, in recognition of its modest growth and solidification of the importance of its mission and vision. Balkin continues, "we'd like to thank each and every - current and former - board member, volunteer, sponsor, and donor, for helping make Darren's ambitions a reality, as we continue to grow his legacy with regards to supporting those pursuing careers in the ever-increasingly important vocations."

From the Guidestar website (https://learn.guidestar.org/about-us):
Each year, millions of people use GuideStar information to make decisions about nonprofits and the work they do. Donors explore charities and issues they want to support. Nonprofit leaders benchmark their organizations against their peers. Funders research grantees. We strive to provide the highest-quality, most complete nonprofit information available.
GuideStar gathers, organizes, and distributes information about U.S nonprofits. It sounds simple, but in reality it’s an enormous undertaking. The nonprofit sector is huge and complex, as these numbers from our database show:

2.7M 26M 3.4M

GuideStar was a pioneer in using the Internet to share nonprofit information. (Fun fact: in the early days, GuideStar data was distributed on CD-ROM.) Today we are part of the backbone of the nonprofit sector. Yet we also continue to innovate, collaborating with other leadership organizations on issues such as the Overhead Myth and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
